Egad! Another <cough> transistor set! Is there no end to this usurpation of the boatanchors? Er, yes and no. I have wanted a Yaesu 'Frog 7' for sometime as they are particularly fine sets and can now be had for less than $150. This is the German badged version by Sommerkamp and came to me via Ebay from a seller in Germany

Return to The Boatanchor Collection

This is a superb example of the methodical approach the Japanese have brought to bear on all phases of the design process. This radio weighs just 16lbs and is the solid-state descendant of Dr Trevor Wadley's unique circuit. It features three tuning adjustments and drifts by no more than 500Hz once warmed up. It has dual power supplies to offer a measure of portability and ushered a new era of high-grade receivers that were reasonably priced.
