Yaesu-Musen YC-305 Frequency Counter

Yaesu-Musen were (and still are) a highly respected Japanese manufacturer of radio products for the ham and amateur SWL markets.

This frequency counter has an effective range of about 20 Mhz - not quite enough for use as a digital frequency readout.

It has a maximum input voltage of about 5 volts and uses 5 nixie tubes of the miniature B-5870S type behind an orange filter.

It is a fully solid state unit (apart from the display), based around some two dozen Texas Instruments CMOS chips and probably dates from the early 1970's.
